Nintendo has rolled out a new update for the Wii U that adds a number of convenience changes, including something to keep your Wii U neat and tidy. As of version 5.2.0 U, you’ll be able to create folders in which to keep your games and apps.
The update also adds a function to hide software on the Quick Start Menu. You’ll also find a new download management icon in the menu.
Nintendo has also taken a step to prevent download code confusion, disabling the letters O, I, and Z, which are not used in eShop codes. You can start pulling down the update now.

Our Take
As an older gamer, one of the harder things to get used is that console platforms are now evolving ecosystems. On one hand, it’s a shame that these convenience features (which seem straightforward) weren’t available at launch. On the other, I prefer platform holders be able to respond to user preferences and adapt to how people engage with the hardware and operating systems. Little changes like this go a long way.
