Summer Games Done Quick Charity Event Ends Raising More Than $700,000

The latest Games Done Quick charity marathon has come to a close after raising more than $700,000 for Doctors Without Borders.

This morning the official Games Done Quick twitter account tweeted that the marathon raised $713,338.96, bringing the organization's total charity fundraising efforts up to $2.75 million.

The event is over, but you can still donate and catch some extra bonus speed running by heading here. Currently, speed runner vivalagaming360 is rushing his way through The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask. For more on the Summer Games Done Quick event head here and here.

Our Take
Watching a good speed run, especially for a game you are personally familiar with, is a fascinating experience. I always enjoy checking in on the event while it's going, and I am excited to see Games Done Quick raise so much money for charity.
