Ben Foster was revealed as part of the World of Warcraft film's cast last year, and now we have a better idea of who he is playing.
Speaking with IGN recently, Foster detailed his character, and his role in the movie's plot. Foster is playing the character Medivh. "He came up in a time protecting an area, and the way he protected this area was through magic," Foster said, "As peace returned to this land he took a break. He hung up his staff, so to speak, or let his guns get dusty. We meet him as his friends are returning asking for his help in a battle."
Foster also spoke about the film's general plot, which director Duncan Jones spoke about at a recent Blizzcon, saying, "It's not just a video game turned into a movie. It's asking, hopefully, an important question of, where do we limit our compassion for what we consider to be the bad guys?"
Foster also said while his character is not a motion-captured special effect character, he has been impressed by the test footage saying, "It's unlike anything I've ever seen. It's performance-capture. It pushes it to the next level. It's going to be one helluva 3D event."

Our Take
I am actually not a huge Warcraft fan, but I am a Duncan Jones fan, who seems to have a real appreciation for the source material. I have high hopes for this film, and I am excited to see it in 2016.
