Dark Souls Leads Off June Xbox Live Games With Gold

This month’s Xbox Live Games with Gold introduces some oft-requested changes to the program. Starting this month, Xbox One owners will get in on the fun, too.

From June 1 through 15, Dark Souls will be available on Xbox 360. Later in the month (from the 16th through 30th), Charlie Murder and the bonus title, Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition, will be available.

The two Xbox One titles for the month, Halo: Spartan Assault and Max: The Curse of Brotherhood, still don’t have dates. For Xbox One gamers, those titles will be available as long as you are an Xbox Live Gold member (similar to how PlayStation Plus works).

The Xbox 360 implementation of the Games with Gold program won’t be changing, though. You’ll be able to keep your games even if you drop your membership.

As a reminder, you are running out of time to get the current Xbox Live Games with Gold title. Head here to download Saints Row: The Third.

Our Take
This is a big month for Games with Gold. All of the titles are solid, and this is the first step for Xbox One owners. I expect we’ll see Ryse or Forza Motorsport 5 join the program in the coming months, too.
