[Update] The Elder Scrolls Online Patch Blasts Bots And Gold Farmers

Update: Bethesda has postponed the rollout of 1.0.6 and the maintenance planned for today. We'll update when the patch is scheduled for deployment.

Original Story:

Bethesda and Zenimax Online have rolled out a new patch for The Elder Scrolls Online. The latest update, 1.0.6, fixes some quest issues and continues the fight against the scourge of every MMO: bots.

The fixes also include improvements to the Mac client and repairs to freezes related to excessive CPU usage, crashes related to viewing the map interacting with some NPCs, and some items becoming invisible.

The patch also incorporates new measures to combat bots and gold farmers. You can read up on our coverage of The Elder Scrolls Online for more.

Our Take
As far as MMO launches go, The Elder Scrolls Online has been fairly smooth. These measures seem like relatively routine patches. The first add-on content has been announced, which should keep busy those players who are reaching the highest levels already.
